I am not currently on any birth control since my sons birth last summer. I normally start my period between the 6-10th of every month. Last Monday, Sept.29 around 9pm I got really sick and ended up throwing up off and on for a couple hours. Tuesday Felt fine just a little tired. Friday, woke up at 4 am to horrible cramps and I had started my period. It was heavy all day Friday and half of Saturday. By Sunday, I wasn't bleeding at all. Saturday woke up at 5 am, throwing up again and felt horrible until after lunch. I couldn't keep anything down except Sprite. After I drank the Sprite, I was fine. Stomach is still feeling queazy and still feel emotional like on my period. Its Tuesday, Oct. 7th and noticed light brown spotting only when I wipe. Whats going on? Thanks in Advance. Just didn't know if I should Test. I should be starting my period this week and Its just not normal for me to start that early and already finished in three days.

Hi Anon,
Glad you got my message. Since you are having this spotting and the nausea, I would call your doctor. If you are pregnant and the test is giving you a false positive, a blood test will definitely tell you for sure. Also, I would talk with him or her about the symptoms especially the irregualr bleeding.

Took your advice and took a HPT and it was negative. I felt nauseous all afternoon, but noticed more "pink spotting" after dinner tonight but a couple hours later it was back to the "brown spotting". I didn't have any implantation bleeding with my son. A HPT took 2 weeks to come back positive when we found out we were preg. with my son. I had light headedness and no period at all.

Hi Anon,
Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community. It's such a pain when your cycle is off, which is what I initially thought it was. Just an irregular period adn then a bout with the flu.
But, since you are having some brown spotting, my thought is that it could be implantation bleeding and you could be pregnant.
Since your period should be starting this week, a hpt should definitely tell you if you are pregnant.
Are you familiar with implantation bleeding? Did you experience the same with your son?
