Q:

Could I be pregnant?

I messed around with an ex for 5 minutes at the most, but it was unprotected. According to my chart, I was very fertile. I started spotting 9 days before my cycle and two days later "my period" started. It was on for two days and now it's off. I didn't have the "residue" but I bled regular on the first day and not as much on the second day. I'm confused but I feel like its too soon for a test. Help! Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi Anon,

Thank you for posting your question to the EmpowHER community. I can understand your concern and I'd be glad to offer some help.

First and foremost, with unprotected sex you increase your chances of pregnancy, as well as STIs. I would advise you to get a screening just to be sure that you are completely healthy.

Additionally, it is important to note that every woman is different and pregnancy can occur anytime, even right after your period. I advise you to take a pregnancy test as it is the only way to know for certain. A pregnancy test can be taken 10 to 14 days after unprotected sex.

If you have more questions or concerns, call your doctor for more instructions.

I hope this information is valuable to you and allows you to take any following steps.

Best,

Dani
