Q:

Cramping after sex?

I had sex yesterday and having had on and off light left sided cramping throughout the day... I am supposed to ovulate in two days but this is my first time having sex. I'm a teenager and I'm not on birth control, but we did use protection and he pulled out. I haven't felt any nausea or fatigue or any other symptoms that keep freaking me out online. But since this is my first time and I ovulate soon, what are the chances that I'm not pregnant? I'm one to worry and I'm really freaking out here so help would be great.

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for your question and welcome  to Empowher. You would not have pregnancy symptoms so early so don't be so concerned about the feelings you are having now. Since you just had sex for the first time, this is probably the cause of your cramping feelings. These are common.

Anonymous, if you plan on having sex, you should really get on some sort of birth control method and always use condoms. Is there a grown up that you can talk to about sex?

The only way you can find out if you are pregnant is to wait and see if you miss your period, then take a pregnancy test. There is no immediate answer if you are pregnant after you have sex. I know this can be concerning but try not to worry about it for right now.

I hope this helps and keep us posted!

Good luck,

Missie
