Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for your question.

Novynette is an oral contraceptive which contains either desogestrel or ethinylestradiol as the active ingredient. It is prescribed to prevent pregnancy and reduce symptoms of pre-menstrual syndrome.

Missed or irregular menstrual periods are a listed side effect of desogestrel.

Anonymous, if you are having longer than normal periods while taking Novynette, please speak with your gynecologist today.

Regards,
Maryann
