Hi Ruby9577,

Thank you for visiting the EmpowHER community and sharing your question today!

I would call your doctor and see what he or she wants you to do in regards to when you should restart the pack.

Some sources say that you should only start the pill on the first day of your period or on the first Sunday after the start of your period. Other experts say it is perfectly fine to take it any day of the month. Since opinions and the pill type vary so much, I would call and ask your doctor. If you suspect a possible pregnancy, you should be able to find that out 5 days before a missed period.

I included an article about birth control and an unborn fetus. It appears that there is very little risk should you be pregnant- so that is good news :-)

Please keep me posted. Did this help?

Best,

Kristin
