The bleeding is unrelated to having intercourse. Unless of course you have not had a period for months until after having intercourse, then it could potentially be related.
If you are expecting a period then of course the bleeding is your period. If you are between periods then it could be due to hormonal imbalances and you can take birth control pills in order to have a regular periods if you wish.
