Hi thanks for you response.. yes she is on her period when it happened. was it necessary to take the pill as she was already on her period ? or was a an ok idea as a precaution ?

Hi,
Whenever you have unprotected sex, there is a risk of pregnancy as sperm can live in a woman body up to 5 days. My advice is to use protection from now on.

If taken with 24 hours, the risk is low. But it's recommended that if you don't have bleeding or your next period does not come when expected, to test for pregnancy. You say she did get her period? Emergency contraception should only be used in an emergency. It's not to be used as a regular form of birth control. Use condoms to avoid her having to take these pills again.
