Hi,I have had the I'm planning in for 2years and 3 months now, I have recently got a new partner and have have had inter coarse twice, first time 5 weeks ago and then the other day, I don't normally get my period after sex but this time I have and I am a little concerned with the symptoms. I have been getting cramps and stomach aches, my lower back has being aching and I'm just wondering if anyone could tell me the reason why this is happening, because there has been people with the implanon fall pregnant. Can someone help me out please

Thank you for writing.

A period happens every month, whether you have sex or not. Was your period due? If so, your symptoms sound normal.
There is very little risk of pregnancy when on Implanon but a pregnancy test can confirm this for you. If it's negative then talk to your doctor about your bleeding, if it's not your regular period.
