Q:

I haven't had sex since before my last period and now I'm late - could I really be pregnant?

So.. I had sex with a condom (nothing went wrong with it that I know of, I've known him for awhile and he is a bit weird but I definitely don't think he would take it off during or not tell me if it broke) on december 10th and got a completely normal period on december 16th - heavy, normal pms, lasted four days (which seems short but is very normal for me). According to my period tracker app I am now two days late.. I have not taken a test yet but I am going to tomorrow. There are a few things that could be affecting my cycle, like I recently started my first semester of university so that has been a little added stress and a lot of studying. I also changed my diet to lose weight (five pounds down whoo!) and have been walking a lot more to make my 10 000 steps a day. I also stopped taking yaz birth control in August and the withdrawal from that did cause a weird cycle - two weeks in between my periods in september, 28 days until the next one, another six weeks, then three and a half weeks and then three weeks so it's obviously been a little irregular, but could it still be affecting me in January? could i be pregnant? has anyone been in this situation before? hoping im just crazy!

Hello, anonisscared123456789. Thank you for posting.

If you had protected sex without mishap and also had your period, this indicates you are not pregnant. Sometimes periods are late, illness, stress, or a simple change in body chemistry can impact a woman's cycle. You can always test to ease your mind.

Hello,

Same situation I had protected sex before and got my period dec 28 to jan 3. But this month I havent got my period and i feel my breast full, got bruises on my legs signs that my period is coming, bloated feeling, and cramps. I get yellow watery discharge or white discharge.

Is that normal? Am I pregnant?

Hi,

Bruises on your legs would not be related to your period. It sounds like your period is on its way.
