I missed one birth control pill. Could i get pregnant?

My boyfriend and I had sex 2days ago, I was only after taking my first Pill after my period cycle although I still had spots of bleeding during sex and that day. We didn't use a condom as I just started my Pill again that day, He came inside me but I stupidly forgot to take my Pill the next day as I didn't get home. What are the chances of pregnancy? I would really appreciate it if I could get advice etc. Thanks.

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Did you make up for the missed dose when you did get home? Have you been taking your pill daily since then?

My concern regarding your risk for pregnancy is that you had only taken one dose of birth control. But, you had just finished your period and were still spotting.

For peace of mind, contact your gynecologist, who prescribed the pills. Your doctor is your best resource.

Maryann

Hi, Thank you for the reply, I appreciate it.

No I did not make up for the missed pill, but I have been taking them daily since. We had sex twice that night, the first time he came inside me, The second time he didn't come. Like I said, I was just finishing my period and was spotting that day/night, Does that make a difference?

Hi Anonymous,

Since you just finished your period, I think it would have been to early for ovulation. But, since I am not a gynecologist, I suggest to check with your doctor. I do not want to misguide you.
