Usually bleeding means you are not pregnant.

do you rekon this could bemy real period then? i came off the pill and my period would not really be due for another week and a half. However is it true that when on the pill they ar enot ur real period?? if this is my period surley this would mean i may ovulate in 14 day?

No, that is not true. Your period is your period whether you are on or off the pill. Breakthrough bleeding is lighter and not a period.

Anonymous, you really could use a consult with an OB/GYN doctor to find out where you are hormonally, and be sure you are healthy and ready for pregnancy. You could have all of your answers there in one appointment. We don't mind the questions but we cannot tell what is going on with your cycle. Everyone is a little different, not everyone ovulates right at 14 days or has a 28 day cycle, especially when you first go off the pill.

I suggest you make an appointment so you can get some good professional advice on your specific situation. I think you'll be glad you did.

Anonymous,
As mentioned earlier, every woman is different and you must check your ovulation cycle in order to answer that question. Since you just got off the pill two weeks ago, your body may take at least a month to adjust. Try the ovulation test so you know the best time for pregnancy for you specifically.

Good luck!

Hi again anonymous,
Thank you for responding. I think I was a little confused as I thought you were more worried about pregnancy and not trying to conceive. I am assuming that you are explaining that you are now off of the Pill for 2 to 2 ½ weeks now. It is very common for healthy adults to try to get pregnant for up to a year. When you first remove yourself from the Pill, it is common to start ovulating between 2 to 6 weeks after you stop taking them. Your body changing and you experiencing a mild period, may just be your body reacting to the change (from Pill to nothing).
The most important thing is trying to find your ovulation time and there are ovulation tests that can be purchased at your local drug store. Finding this very important time is essential. Break through bleeding is usually your body removing excess skin (blood) on your uterus. Take your time and enjoy the process and find that ovulation time. Every woman is different so talking to your physician should also help.
Good Luck and keep us posted!

Hi Anonymous,
Thank you for your question. It is very common to have irregular periods or mild periods while you are on birth control if you have missed pills. It is called breakthrough bleeding and it is common. Does this mean you are not fertile for ages? No, not necessarily. If you remain taking the pills again on a daily basis, your body will get back to a regular schedule. Did I answer all your questions? Did you have any other concerns?
Thanks,
Melissa
