Is it normal to miss a period after taking plan b?

My LMP was Dec 9th and on Dec 12th (saturday)I had unprotected sex and took plan B. I took one pill that evening and I took the second pill late, i took it 15 hours later insetead of 12. In fear that the pill did not work I took another dose on Monday. I started to bleed exactly one week after taking the first pill on saturday Dec 19th, I've read that the bleeding could be "withdrawl" bleeding. Is it possible to ovulate again after having the withdrawl period?
My period is now late. I took 3 pregnancy tests this week and they all come back negative. Could it be that I will NOT get my period this month because I took 2 plan b pills in 3 days. I will also mention that I've been stressed out since having unprotected sex but I don't think i can relax until i get my period. Pleae help!!

Hello Anonymous,

Do not take Plan B again. Taking another dose so soon after the recent dose on August 16 will really mess up your hormonal balance.

The menstrual cycle is controlled by hormones. Any thing that upsets the normal balance will affect your period.

Some women experience changes in their menstrual cycle after taking this pill. The irregular vaginal bleeding which you noticed is probably the start of your period, which will be different after taking Plan B.

Having sexual intercourse at the start of your period will not stop your period from continuing.

If you are so inclined to have sex so often, please get a prescription for birth control, either pills, patch or shot. And start using birth control daily. Condoms are not 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. And the "pull-out" method is even less reliable.

Hello Anonymous,

It would be useless and a waste of money to take a home pregnancy this early.

Plan B contains a high dose of the synthetic hormone found in most birth control pills. It prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation and fertilization.

Your symptoms, which resemble your usual premenstrual symptoms, probably indicate that your period will start soon.

If you do not get your period in the next three weeks, test for pregnancy.

Well My period finally came after being a month and a half late!! I posted earlier but to recap... I took plan B in May, had a period in June, NO period in July and just got my period the 22nd for this month. In total my period was late by 1 and half months. I was sooo scared I was pregnant and I did have to negative pregnancy test. Just be patient your period is coming. This plan B jacks your period up but it works... ;0

Hello Anonymous,

If you had vaginal bleeding after taking Plan B, you are not pregnant. Some women experience changes in their menstrual cycle as a side effect of taking the pill. Your period may be late because of taking Plan B.

I took plan b about a month ago after having unprotected sex. A week later I started bleeding like it was my nor mal period. Now I've been waiting for my period and it still hasn't come. Is it normal to be this late? Could I be pregnant? According to my calc im 12 days late. Should I get a pregnancy test? Or is this just normal and I just have to wait for my period?
