My LMP was Dec 9th and on Dec 12th (saturday)I had unprotected sex and took plan B. I took one pill that evening and I took the second pill late, i took it 15 hours later insetead of 12. In fear that the pill did not work I took another dose on Monday. I started to bleed exactly one week after taking the first pill on saturday Dec 19th, I've read that the bleeding could be "withdrawl" bleeding. Is it possible to ovulate again after having the withdrawl period?
My period is now late. I took 3 pregnancy tests this week and they all come back negative. Could it be that I will NOT get my period this month because I took 2 plan b pills in 3 days. I will also mention that I've been stressed out since having unprotected sex but I don't think i can relax until i get my period. Pleae help!!

I got my period or bleed a week after, which was early for me. now I am waiting for my second period and I have all the symptoms of a period but it's not coming. I am very stressed about it. will my period come? am I pregnant?
thanks

Hello Anonymous,

Stress will cause a delay in the start of your period. Try to relax, it will come.
Unless you have had unprotected sex since your last period, you are not pregnant.

The same thing happened to me I took the pill In November it gave me a second period then in December I got a period but once January came around I didn't get one when I was suppose to. I had all the symptoms also and plus I had been having sex after I took the plan b pill. Anyways I took 5 pregnancy test and they all came out negative but I still didn't get my period. Luckily for me I got my period on the 31st of January. I think that your body is doing what mine was doing which was regulating. Hopefully yours will come. I hope this helped.

Hello Rachel,

Unless you have had unprotected sex since your last period, there is no chance that you are pregnant.

Changes in the menstrual cycle are a reported side effect of Plan B. Some women start their periods earlier or later than normal after taking this pill.
Try to relax because excessive stress can cause a delay in the start of your period. Give it a little more time.

im on birth control but i had sex on my 1st day of my sugar pills (no condom, but he pulled out, i know thats bad) so i took the plan b because i usually dont get my period till the 3rd day of my sugar pills. i havent got my period yet. i was just wondering if the plan b affected my period. i am really freaking out. i only got very light spotting last month on my period, and i wasnt even having sex at that time.

Hello Anonymous,

Plan B contains the same synthetic hormone found in most birth control pills, but at a much higher dose. Depending upon where you are in your cycle, this hormone called levonorgestrel works by preventing or delaying ovulation, interfering with fertilization of an egg, or possibly preventing implantation of a fertilized egg in the uterus by altering its lining.

Since you had unprotected sex on the first day of the inactive pills, you should have already ovulated. Changes in the menstrual cycle is a side effect that some women experience. Reported changes include the next period starting earlier or later than normal. Vaginal blood flow can be lighter or heavier than normal.

If you do not get your period within 3 weeks of taking Plan B, take a home pregnancy test.

I had sex with my girl friend on the Oct 10 around 10pm. I was unprotected but I didnt finish inside of her. I bought a plan b one step and she took it @ 11am on Oct 11. My question is how long from when she took the plan b should she get her period?. She usually get it around the end of the month anyway. I am an nervous and I take all the advice that I can get.

Hello Anonymous,

She should get her period about the time of the month that it normally occurs. However, some women experience changes in their menstrual cycle after taking Plan B. This side effect can present as a period starting earlier or later than normal. Also, the vaginal blood flow can be lighter or heavier than normal.

If she does not get her period within 3 weeks, she should take a home pregnancy test. Plan B is 89% effective in preventing pregnancy when taken within 72 hours after unprotected sex.
