Q:

I've missed 5 days of the contraceptive pill and now I have my period. What pill do I need to take now?

I'm not sexually active, I only started taking the pill as a form of treatment for my acne, and I started this last week (Mon 8th).
My period ended on Monday so I started my inactive pills (Mon, Tues, Wed, Thu) and then I completely forgot about it for 5 days (Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues) and last night I got my period. Do I just continue my sheet and take today's inactive Wednesday pill or start a new sheet and take an active pill? (as I have my period)
I'm confused on which pill I can take and what it will mean in terms of my cycle.

Guide

Hello r0,

Normally, you start taking the first active pill in the pack once you have finished your period. It appears you started with the inactive pills.

Please contact the physician who prescribed the oral contraceptives to treat your acne, explain what you did and ask how you should proceed.

Regards,
Maryann
