Messing up on birthcontrol

So this month was crazy, and I missed one day in the first week of my pills and I got really bad cramps and I got my period and that's when I realized I forgot to take the pill, so I caught up and continued taking it and two weeks later I realized I was off one pill again. I am almost done with taking the sugar pills , and I'm freaking out because I haven't got my period and I don't know if it is stress, or that I've been really sick , or that I'm pregnant(which I'm praying I'm not)

Hello CMS15,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. I am glad you reached out to us and I will do my best to help you.

Did you have intercourse around the time you missed taking your pills? If so, then take a home pregnancy test. Test in the morning and use the first urine of the day.

The vaginal bleeding was probably triggered by the drop in hormone levels caused by missing an active birth control pill. The possible hormone imbalance caused by missing two doses this month might explain why you have not had withdrawal bleeding during the week of inactive or placebo pills.

CMS15, call your gynecologist's office and report what has happened. Your physician is your best resource.

Regards,
Maryann
