I had sex with my boyfriend and the condom broke before he ejaculated, so we stopped and used a new one. I took the morning after pill (Levonelle) within the 3 day time frame. Two weeks later my period was due, but it came a couple of days earlier. It lasted 4/5 days and was heavier than spotting and was brown and red (fresh blood). It had some blood clots, but was still lighter than my usual heavy flow. Was this lighter flow due to the morning after pill as I have read that this can sometimes happen? And as I have bled since the condom breakage, is it safe to assume I am not pregnant? Since the 'period' I no longer feel bloated or have any other PMS symptoms that I experienced just before it.

Hello Anon
Thank you for writing.
It is (almost totally) safe to assume you are not pregnant since you bled quite significantly after taking this medication as this is a sign it worked. It's ok it was a bit different to your normal period - this is to be expected. I say "almost totally" because we can't guarantee anything but your risk is little to none.

Thank you, Susan. Taking the morning after pill has confused me a lot and I have read that my cycle may be altered (i.e when my next period is due) as this one was earlier.

Yes, this can happen. It's just a case of waiting it out.
