Q:

Is my bleeding caused by Nordette ECP or it's a sign of early pregnancy? / Light brown discharge 3 days after my last period is due.

I have my period regularly, it comes every month. Now my concern is that I had sex during my 3rd day heavy-normal-period and he came in me. Two days after / at the 5th or last day of my period we had unprotected sex again. But this time, we used the pull out method and I took 4 nordette ecp pills (4 at once) and didn't take a follow up 4pills 12hrs later. As to what I've read, you should be taking 4pills at once then 12 hrs later another 4pills again... Then came 3 days later after my last period, I had mild light brown blood kinda similar to spotting.

To understand me more:
April 1 - was the first day of my period.
April 3 - 3rd day of my period. Had unprotected sex and he came in me.
April 5 - 5th day of my period. Had unprotected sex but he pulled out. + I took 4 Nordette pills all at once. (and it was the last day of my period)
April 8 - I suddenly had brown light discharge. sooo sooo little. like it stained my underwear for a few minutes and when I put a panty liner, it didn't have a discharge afterwards.

I don't know whether it's caused by the ECP I took, stress or spotting due to pregnancy? Since I had this discharge about 5 days after he came in me. I'm getting so paranoid... Idk if the bleeding could possibly be bc of stress since the night before I had this abnormal discharge, I cried a lot and had an argument with my mom.

Can anyone please help me with this? It's so unusual for me to bleed again 3 days after my last period. What could it be?

Dear Anon,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

If you had sex on your period plus took Nordette, your risk of pregnancy is very low. If you have doubts, you can take an early home pregnancy test. Brown spotting is not unusual before or after a period and does happen with emergency contraception as well.
