Is this normal for a period

Ok so first off my period have always been irregular coming and varied times and what not but this week me and my bf had sex and i beleiev last week as well anyways yesterday morning after peeing i wiped and had brown spotting then nothing at all the rest of the day until at night i went to pee and had bright red bleeding not heavy enough as my usual period but still it was alot so i put a pad on to sleep next morning going to pee i see that the pad has a long streak of dark brown almost black blood not sure if that is normal but anyways after i finish peeing i wipe and i had no spotting or anything for the reat of the day until maybe the after noon i go to the bathroom again to pee and i see the lining in my panties had dar brown streak again and when i wiped had light brownspotting with a bit of pink so again i put a pad on and going to pee again around 9 there is nothing on the pad but when i wiped there was very light brown spotting, then again right before going to bed around 2 in the morning i go pee and when i wiped there was no spotting i just would like some feedback on what this could mean and should i talk to my doctor

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER, If your periods are irregular this might be the cause. But, obviously it's not a common symptom of yours to have spotting. You might want to take a home pregnancy test, a few days after your period is due. Spotting can also be a symptom of pregnancy.
