Q:

Nuvaring fell out?

I put my nuvaring in this sunday 4/5 and I was on my period and I was using tampons and today I noticed that my ring is no longer in. I'm not sure when it came out it must have been pulled out with one of my tampons but I am unsure of what I should do. Should I insert another nuvaring now and continue on and still take it out on the same date I would have before or should I wait until next month to put another in? I have not had sex so this isnt about pregnancy. I just don't know what I should do.

Guide

Hi Anon,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

Because it has been more than 3 hours that your NuvaRing has been out, the contraceptive effectiveness is compromised.  If you do decide to engage in sexual activity, be sure to use a back up birth control method like a condom.

You should definitely reinsert it or put in another NuvaRing.

You can always check online with the manufacturer's website or search here on the topic for more information.

I hope this helps.
