Ovulation time

My period is due on the first, but I took plan b on dec 11, idk if that extends my ovulation day or not. However it says I'm suppose to be ovulationg on dec 18th. Today whenever I push hard or pee I see really long clear slimy discharge come from my vagina. I looked it up and it says I'm ovulationg. It says it helps sperm travel to my egg. The last time I had unprotected Sex was the 20th and he eqaculated a bit (outside of me) then cleaned it off and put it back in and equacualtwd again after 10 minutes. I've never seen this happen but he never came in me. So the question is, if that mucus helps travel sperm and stay alive. Does that mean I'm getting this because I HAVE sperm in me traveling and my body is preparing it to fertilize. Or just simply, ovulationg. What do you think my chances are of pregnancy? I'm suppose to go on birth control when I get my period on New Years...

Dear Anon.

Thanks for reaching out to EmpowHer.

Immediately prior to ovulation, most women usually detect increased vaginal secretions that are wet and slippery (similar to the consistency of raw egg white). Generally, your body produces the greatest amount of this type of vaginal discharge on the day of ovulation. So that is what you are experiencing.

As for pregnancy, plan b can cause irregularity in your cycle. If your period doesn't come within a week of the expected time, to ease your mind, test pregnancy test.

Hi

Does when you are ovulating means you are not pregnant?

Hi,

You cannot ovulate while you are pregnant. Ovulation is the act of your body releasing an egg during the menstrual cycle. Ovulation typically happens once a month. However, once you become pregnant, that bodily process shuts down for a while.

Hi,

The cervical fluid that resembles “egg whites” is a sign that you are near ovulation or are ovulating. Every woman can experience her own type of cervical fluid, and not all cervical fluid looks the same. Ovulation usually takes place on the day a woman has the most amount of wet fluid.
