hi everyone, i am very new to this so I hope i get some responses.
I am 8 days late on my period, and I am extremely regular! I have never missed a period ever, and only ever experienced being late by 1 day.
My boyfriend and I use the "Withdrawal" method, we are not trying to conceive however if it happens we would be happy, and ready to start a family. I have taken a test at 4 days late which was negative. I did it first thing, and correctly using clear blue.

Since the 4th day I have been experiencing symptoms and seriously mirror pregnancy! sore breasts/nipples, lower back pain, excessive saliva, headaches and slight nausea. I also had light cramping around days 3, 4 and 5 which i truly felt meant my period was coming. Not to mention, I have had clear white discharge for several days which almost felt as if I had come on, but then when i go to the bathroom...nothing.

I have an appointment with my doctor on wednesday (12th) so I will keep updating as I hope this can help someone else. Every forum i have read, no one updates with their outcome.

Hello Mikayla01,

Thank you for sharing your question.  I'd love to give you some helpful information on the subject.

Even though your boyfriend "withdrew" there is still a possibility of pregnancy.  I suggest that you wait another week or two, then take another pregnancy test.  You may have taken it too soon.

It is important to wait until completely ruling pregnancy before looking into other reasons why your period is late this time.

If you are not pregnant your period may be due to a hormonal imbalance which is very common and nothing to worry about.  However if you do wish to get your period back on schedule your doctor will most likely recommend that you start taking an oral contraceptive.  This is not only prevent pregnancy in the future but will give your body to proper hormones it needs to get a regular period again.

For now, simply wait another 1 or 2 weeks, take another pregnancy test.  If it is negative, then let us know if you have any more questions, or speak with your doctor about the other possible reasons for your irregular period.
