Hi, Dannielamurphy.

I have helped you on this subject before.

Emergency contraceptives are up to 95% effective when taken as prescribed within the first 24 hours, so the risk is very small. Side effects can include stomach aches, headaches, nausea and a general feeling of being unwell. Symptoms usually start 3-7 days after taking the medication and may or may not include bleeding or spotting. Not all women get symptoms. It can also cause your period to be early or late, have a lighter or heavier flow, so be aware of this. If you don’t get your period within a week of its expected date, you can always test for pregnancy, although the risk is low.

Hi,

Yes, I know. I was surprised you felt the need to use ECP when you say you take your birth control pills faithfully. There is only about a 1% risk of pregnancy when on the pill and having full intercourse (no condom).

Hi,

Yes, you took ECP so nothing to do but wait.

Some women prefer using condoms on the pill, some don't. So it's up to the person.

Anyway, try not to stress too much.

Take care,
Helena
