Guide

Hello emillythong,

No, Postinor 2 and all the other emergency contraceptives prevent pregnancy but do not terminate or end an existing pregnancy.

An emergency contraceptive works in two ways, depending on the time in the menstrual cycle. It works by preventing ovulation. Or, it will alter the cervical mucus making it difficult for sperm to get to the egg and fertilize it.

Withdrawal bleeding caused by the emergency contraceptive means it prevented a pregnancy from happening.

I hope this answers your question.
