Recently my boyfriend and I have had unprotected sex, it was shortly after my ovulation had ended and he pulled out (did not finish). My period is due today but it hasn’t come yet, and I’m worried I’m pregnant despite being careful. How long will it be until my period is considered late and I should take a pregnancy test?

Doctors typically recommend that you wait until the first day of your missed period before taking a home pregnancy test. A missed period is usually one of the first signs of pregnancy. Some women prefer to wait at least one week after a missed period to be sure they did not test too soon.
