Q:

Pregnancy risk

I have been on Camilla (a "mini pill") for 5.5 years. I had unprotected vaginal intercourse on a Saturday morning, and forgot to take my pill that night. I realized the next morning that I did not take my pill and I took it (11 hours late) and then took the rest of my pills at the appropriate time and have not missed any other pills. What is the risk that I am pregnant?

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER.

It it too late now, but there was a risk for becoming pregnant.

Pregnancy is more likely if you miss pills, start a new pack late, or take your pill at a different time of the day than usual.

When you missed a pill and did not take a pill until 11 hours later, and a back-up method of birth control (such as condoms, spermicide, you put yourself at risk.

Regards,
Maryann
