i am wondering about the accuracy of pregnancy tests. i have taken 3 separate at home pregnancy tests, the last being about 2 months since i had sex. they have all been negative. is there any way that these tests could not be sensing a pregnancy or am i okay?

Hi Anon,

You won't be able to get any blood work done without your doctor requesting for you to have one done.  Every doctors office is different, some can know right away.

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Pregnancy test, when taken as instructed they should give you an accurate result. For most brands you should wait until your period is due to take the test, it will detect the pregnancy hormone HCG if you are pregnant. If you have not gotten your period and the pregnancy tests are showing negative, it might be best to see your OBGYN just to make sure.  Have you seen a doctor yet?

Best,

Daisy
