Q:

Risk of pregnancy on period? Plan B etc

my boyfriend and I have become sexually active for about two months. Both of us were virgins prior so everything is a bit new. I am on my period, day 3 and we decided to have sex without a condom. He pulled out and ejaculated. The sperm landed in front of me and right under my butt where I was laying. He wasn't in me but I am afraid some of it could have gotten on the outside of my vagina because I know a little was on my butt. Please help. Semi-panicking

Guide

Hello and thank you for sharing your question.

The "pull-out" method in general is not very reliable.  However, the only way to know whether or not you did become pregnant from this event you will need to take a pregnancy test.

The best time to take one is a week after a missed or irregular period.  If it is still within 24 hours since you had intercourse you can take an emergency contraceptive.

The normal side effect of this pill is bleeding between periods and cramping.
