Q:

Is there a possibility I’m pregnant?

So recently me and my boyfriend decided to try to have sex. But I was still a virgin so he just wanted to see if we could try. So he tried to get it in, but I was too tight and so thus we stopped. He didn’t penetrate me at all, and I don’t even think he broke my hymen. Is there a possibility I can be pregnant from pre cum? I’ve been googling the heck outta this and it’s stressed me out a lot, I hope you can help calm my fears. Thank you.

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

Not using birth control/condom is a really poor decision. I hope you rethink that for the future since it sounds like the sex was planned and no birth control was used.

As long as there was no ejaculaton, there can be no pregnancy. Pre-ejaculate itself does not contain any sperm. Sperm may be inside the urethra if a man ejaculated recently and did not urinate since. If he urinated since he last ejaculated, there is no sperm at all. Pregnancy is very uncommon from pre-ejaculate and the urethra would have to contain sperm at the same time. A woman would also have to be ovulating and engage in unprotected intercourse with ejaculation.

Best,
Susan
