I and my boyfriend had unprotected sex on October 11, it was the 2nd day of my "supposed-to-be" period days per my period tracker, we used the withdrawal method actually. Now I'm 10 days late, I usually had my cycle 35-44 days. Do the pregnancy chance is high? Please someone reply, need some advise, please...

I'm still observing myself Ms. Kristin. For now, just a missed period I had as a sign. No sore breast, no spotting, no cramping, no lower back pain, no frequent peeing so I'm thinking not to take pregnancy test yet maybe its too early. But i'll find a good gynecologist to observe my situation.

Hi Anon,

I would suggest that you go to a Gynecologist or family planning clinic and getting on birth control to regulate your period. 44 day cycle is not the norm and pills can regulate it so that you can have regular periods.

Have you taken a pregnancy test? Are you afraid to?

Just to add some info so you could have enough knowledge about my situation, Im 22 y/o, 5'6 in height and 160+ lbs in weight. And is it true that during or 5 days after intercourse there would be a conception? And a day or two after conception there would be a spotting?

Hi Anon,

Conception means the day the sperm fertilized the egg. Which could be on the same day you had sex or up to 3 days later. Hope that helps!

Spotting after conception is defined as implantation bleeding.  It is scant pink to brown discharge that occurs about 10 to 14 days following conception. It generally lasts for a short time and is much lighter than menstrual bleeding.

Dear Anon

Thank you for your question and for choosing EmpowHER!

Anytime you have unprotected sex, you risk pregnancy. Even when pulling out you can still get pregnant as sperm is present even pre-ejaculation.

The best way to know if you are pregnant is to take a pregnancy test. If you are indeed 10 days late, it is very likely that you could be pregnant. Nobody can tell you over the Internet if you are pregnant or not, all we can do is let you know the risks, based on the information you have given us.

Again, your own situation will vary and we cannot give you a definitive answer.  A pregnancy test can be taken 10-14 days after unprotected sex and when taken correctly, will certainly be accurate if your period is 10 days late.

I hope this information helps you! If you have further concerns, taking a pregnancy test is a good idea if the time is right, or call your doctor for further instructions. He or she may want to give you a physical examination or a pregnancy test at the office.

I hope this information helps you and you get answers as soon as possible.

Anon, was this helpful?

Best,

Kristin

Yes this is very helpful. Thank you very much. Uhmm, if I may add my last period was Sept 4-7 it was also 10 days late, around 44 days cycle. Would you think my situation now is same before? I actually had a lot of irregular period.
