Q:

What are the chances that I may be pregnant?

I am 22 years old and I am worried that I may be pregnant. I switched birth controls and two weeks into my new pill I had sex with my partner with a condom. To my knowledge, it didn't break. I am now four days late for my period and my breasts are very sore. I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative, but I am still worried. I am now taking Diane -35 and before I was taking Alyacen 1/.035. I take my pill every day at 9:00pm give or take 30 minutes. I have a tendency to be hyper-paranoid about these sorts of things.

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. I am glad you reached out to us with your concern.

From what you shared, not missing a daily dose and using a condom during sex, I doubt your bleeding is late due to pregnancy.

Possibly, the recent switch in brands of oral contraceptives is the cause. Wait and see if the bleeding starts. Consider speaking with your gynecologist, for reassurance.

Regards,
Maryann
