Hey, soI'm gonna have sex for the first time with my boyfriend this monday. But that day it would be 2 days before my ovulatuon day. What are my chances of getting pregnant? We are going to use a condom! I still don't know if we are going to use some kind of water-base lube yet since they kinda expensive for us. (We are both 21yrs old students). Also he said hes not thinking on coming inside or anything. I'm not on the pill or anything like that still Im kinda curious cus we are both busy at college and this is our first time being free and even sleep together for the day. If the chances are really high probs we will wait for another moment.

Thank you and sorry for bothering you.

Guide

Hi, Anon.

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

Condoms are good at preventing both pregnancy and STDs. If you follow the instructions and use them every time you have sex there's is a very small chance of pregnancy and your chance of getting or giving an STD is much lower. This what Planned Parenthood says:

*How effective are condoms against pregnancy?
If you use condoms perfectly every single time you have sex, they're 98% effective at preventing pregnancy. But people aren't perfect, so in real life, condoms are about 82% effective — that means about 18 out of 100 people who use condoms as their only birth control method will get pregnant each year. *

Best,
Helena
