What are my chances of getting pregnant if i missed one pill and made it up ASAP?

I missed one pill Thursday night, in my third week, but made it up as soon as i woke up on Friday morning. I also took my pill about 3 hours late on Saturday night, which would have been my last active pill. My boyfriend and I had sex soon after. We used a condom, but it broke. He had already went shortly before we had sex. He went inside of me not knowing the condom broke, but he barely went. What are my chances of getting pregnant?

Hi Anonymous,

Since you took two pills on Sunday, and an active pill on Monday, you should have had adequate hormone levels to prevent pregnancy during intercourse.

Hello Anonymous,

Take a pregnancy test. For the most accurate result, test in the morning. Use the urine when you first wake up and use the bathroom.

Hi I had been taking my birth control for months, I didn't take it one night and had unprotected sex that night. He finished inside but only halfway. I took Plan B 6 hours later and have taken my birth control nightly since then. Should I be worried?

Hello Anonymous,

Yes, there is the concern that you took Plan B, which contains a high dose of levonorgestrel, which is the same synthetic hormone found in birth control pills, and continue take your birth control pills.

Please contact your gynecologist about this high dosing of hormones.

It would have been better to have simply made up for the missed dose and used back up protection.

Hello,
I am on my first week of my pills and I took the first 3 pills (sunday, monday, tuesday) at 8:30pm (my normal time). I had intercourse wednesday afternoon but forgot to take the pill that night, he came slightly on my stomach, but we wiped it off and continued with intercourse (there was no protection throughout intercourse). It's now thursday night, and i had taken both of my pills for wednesday and thursday at 10:15 pm. Do you think I'm okay?

Hello Anonymous,

I think you should be okay because you missed one pill and you made up for the missed dose. Next time, if this happens, use backup protection.

Hello, big worrier here. I missed the first pill of my new pack this month, but made it up about 36 hours later and took the pill for that day on schedule. As I had just come off of my period, and made up the missed pill as instructed on my pack, I thought it would be okay to have unprotected sex on the day I took my third pill. My partner did not pull out and I did not use back up. I know how irresponsible that was now, but honestly didn't then. It has been two weeks since and I am really stressed. Is there a high chance I am pregnant?

Hello Anonymous,

Not a very big chance because you did follow the directions and make up for the missed pill. Just wait and see if you have withdrawal bleeding during the week of inactive pills.
