Risk Factors are Numerous

Certain risk factors that contribute to changes in the balance of female hormones have been identified. Polycystic ovary syndrome, obesity and menopausal hormone therapy containing only estrogen cause higher estrogen and lower progesterone levels in the body. Early menstruation, before the age of 12, starting menopause after age 50 and having never been pregnant increase the risk for developing endometrial cancer.
