Keri gives advice to couples who are considering in vitro fertilization.
Keri:
I am trying to get across with this is that in the advocacy portion of it is that I think women really need to take into consideration that whole aspect of it that it does, there is an emotional aspect of it. There are things that are going to start to take a toll on you and take a toll on your marriage, and I think that those are the things that you need to take into consideration as well as the medical aspect of it in the beginning, and that’s what we thought of.
I have a lot of friends and a lot of women that don’t, "Oh, I never thought of that," and I said, "Well, you should think of it because it’s going to be an emotional roller coaster as with anything that you do," especially when you’re trying to conceive a child, and you need to think about that in the beginning, and also the financial aspect of it.
I have so many friends that did conceive twins or multiple children during in-vitro fertilization, and then they realized, "Oh my gosh, how am I going to afford three babies all at once," and those are the things that I think people need to understand in the beginning.
