First of all basic things – start taking your vitamins, especially your folic acid, another other thing, you want to be in the best medical condition you can be. So if you are little overweight you might want to try losing weight, getting fit, exercising, getting your medical conditions under control.

So if you are a woman who has high blood pressure, who has diabetes, who has another high-risk complication, getting those medical conditions under control prior to becoming pregnant would be the best way to optimize your pregnancy and to have the best outcome for your pregnancy.
