In this edition of EmpowHER's "HER Daily Dose", Bailey Mosier shares a few tips on how you can fill your own Valentine's Day with good health and good cheer whether you're with that special some one or not.

Hi, I’m Bailey Mosier and this is your EmpowHER Daily Dose.

Whether you have a Valentine today or not, there are plenty of ways to fill your Valentine’s Day with good health and good cheer.

Instead of going out for a lavish and highly caloric dinner, plan an event that encourages physical activity, and healthy eating. Treat yourself and loved ones to a heart-healthy meal full of fruits and vegetables and foods low in saturated fat.

Instead of giving or indulging in chocolates and candy, try giving your loved ones a healthy alternative.

And don’t forget that February is American Heart Month, so why not help raise awareness about heart disease prevention and learn how to lower your own risk.

Whether you are celebrating Valentine’s Day with a special someone or are just looking for ways to celebrate your own heart, try planning a healthy and active event and indulge in something other than chocolates or candy. Whatever you end up doing, we here at EmpowHER hope you have a healthy and happy Valentine’s Day.

That wraps up your EmpowHER Daily Dose. Join me here at EmpowHER.com every weekday for your next dose of women’s health.
