Hi, I’m Bailey Mosier. This is your HER Daily Dose.

If you’re anything like me, your schedule is already pretty jam-packed, so it might be difficult for me to convince you to carve out some free time. But a new study suggests that when we give our time away, it helps us feel like we have more time.

Researchers from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard Business School and the Yale School of Management found that when a person volunteers his or her time, it makes us feel more efficient, and therefore like we are less stressed and hurried.

Not only does volunteering our time make us feel like we have more time, volunteering just two hours a week or roughly 100 hours each year has been shown to reduces the risk of mortality, can help you overcome stress and is good for your heart. So really, volunteering is a positive for all.

That wraps up your HER Daily Dose. Join me here at EmpowHER.com every weekday for your next dose of women’s health.
