Couples therapist Jason Fierstein introduces himself and recalls some important tidbits of information that women should know about men.

Jason Fierstein:
Well hi, my name is Jason Fierstein and I’m a counselor for men and couples. I work in private practice here in Phoenix and I help guys who are struggling in the relationships and help the women who are in relationships with them understand their guys a little bit better. So that’s the gist what I do. I work individually with men, in groups, and I do couples and marriage counseling.

The most critical things that women could know and benefit from knowing about being in a relationship with a guy is that men love their wives and girlfriends very much and sometimes men have very difficult time communicating that and there’s a lot of emotional disconnect for men, and I think that overall is a huge problem in relationships and in marriages is that men have a very hard time connecting to their emotions. Now they may want to try to fix things in their minds and fix problems, but a lot of times the emotional intelligence of men is really an issue and I think that’s an underlying thematic in marital problems.

About Jason Fierstein, M.A., L.P.C.:
I am a State of Arizona board-licensed professional counselor practicing in Phoenix. My master’s degree is in psychology, with a counseling emphasis, and I have a post-graduate certification in Gestalt Therapy. I have been counseling a variety of different clients for nine years, and have been practicing privately for five.
