Signs & Symptoms

A majority of people with HPV never develop symptoms or health problems. In 90% of all cases, the body’s immune system clears the virus naturally within two years. However, certain types of HPV cause genital warts, which appears as a small bump or a group of bumps in the genital area. They can be small or large, raised or flat, or shaped like a cauliflower. Warts can appear within weeks or months after sexual contact with an infected person.
