A bladder infection, like any urinary tract infection, can make life miserable. Fortunately there are things you can do to ease the misery.

"Bladder infections are also known as cystitis, urethritis, and UTIs (urinary tract infections). When bacteria grow in the bladder, the resulting infection usually causes symptoms such as: a burning sensation during voiding, overwhelming urgency, frequent but minuscule urinations, incontinence, bloody urine, and pelvic pain. Up to 25 percent of bladder infections in post- menopausal women are silent or symptomless."

The more acidic your urine is, the greater chance you have of getting a bladder infection. Vitamin C increases acidity.

Drinking cranberry juice helps lower acidity and helps prevent bladder infections. Drinking cranberry juice also kills off bacteria and makes the walls of your bladder slippery which makes the bacteria slide off and away.

Drink a glass of water every hour. Try the homeopathic remedy Cantharis. In the case of a yeast infection, eating yogurt can help to prevent bladder infections.

Pelvic floor exercises help to prevent bladder infections, and can bring some relief.

Their articles are not a substitute for medical advice although we hope you can gain knowledge from their insight.
