Dr. Harness explains what stage zero breast cancer is.
Dr. Harness:
Stage 0 is what is called in situ cancer. We use that term for all sorts of different cancers including cervical cancer and breast cancer. That means, that the cells are still confined inside the ductal system which means that there is no growth through the walls of the ductal system and all of the cancer is completely removed. A patient should have a nearly 100% chance of being cured. So, in summary then, stage 0 cancer is highly, highly curable.
