23 DAYS LATE. DAY 52 IN CYCLE. A FEW SYMPTOMS

Hello, as stated above, I am 23 days late for my period and on day 52 of my cycle. My husband and I have been trying to have a baby, however, I haven't been tracking everything the way I should have. Anyway, I have been having minor symptoms but nothing that screams "you're pregnant!" For example: some nausea, migraines, fatigue, and a bit of lower back cramping as well as a bit of stomach crampong. Also, my appetite has grown but I am continuing to have negative tests. I figured I only have a 5 days until my second period is due. Should I test again if it does not show up or assume that I'm probably not pregnant and make a doctor's appointment?

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to our community for advice.

Since you and your husband are trying to conceive, I really hope you are pregnant.

I suggest you contact your gynecologist and schedule an appointment. In the meantime, you could repeat the test. For the most accurate result, test in the morning and use the first urine of the day. It is concentrated and is the best to test with.

Think of it this way, if the test is positive, you will need to start prenatal care and if the test is negative, you will want to know why you have missed a period.
Please keep us updated.

Regards,
Maryann
