Q:

Am I pregnant or is it just PMS?

I just stopped taking my birth control after my last period, which was July 21st, because I couldn't afford it. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend twice after stopping the pill. According to an ovulation calendar I didn't ovulate until August 4th. One time he ejaculated inside me and the other time he pulled out but I am pretty positive some still got inside. I should be due for my period today but I'm still very scared. I've been experiencing a horrible, on-going stomach ache for about a week and a half. It feels sort of like cramps but also it feels like I'm full all the time. A few days after we had the sex the second time, I got really sick, a migraine and vomiting. My breasts are a little sore but not too bad. I'm know I won't know for sure until I miss my period but I've never had PMS cramps that felt like this. Could it be pregnancy or maybe the fact that I stopped taking birth control so my PMS will be different? Any information would be helpful!

Hi Anonymous

Unfortunately, there is really no way to answer your question. You will just have to wait and see what happens. If you miss your period, you should be able to test a week later for pregnancy.

We get a lot of questions on this topic. Maybe reading the discussion will help you: https://www.empowher.com/condition/pregnancy.

Good luck.
