Hi Anon - welcome!

Ingrown hairs may definitely be a problem for you. They can also be very painful. Do you shave or wax your pubic area? This may be causing it. Consider using a loofa if you do remove your hair - this can help avoid ingrown hairs.

Our skin can definitely pimple-up! You vaginal area is skin and can suffer the same fate as the skin on your chest, back and face. Always wear cotton underwear or make sure the crotch area is made of cotton and use perfume and color free washing detergent. Clean with perfume free cleanser and rinse yourself very thoroughly.

You may have an allergy to the underwear you were or the soaps and gels you use in the shower. You may also be having a bad reaction to your clothes detergent.

If this does not help, it's best to see your health care provider. It's possibly that you may have an STI/STD or some kind of infection.

Do you always have protected sex?
