I have the vein on my right ankle prominent and sore for the past one year and have been having pain on the calf of my right leg.
Lately, both my feet are burning and I ahve gone to different doctors and got myself tested fot diabetes and thyroid which proved to be negative. So, my neurologist has fallen back on gabapentin at bedtime as I refuse to take more.
Could all this be bcause I am peri menopausal ?In that case , will herbal supplements from the store help ?
Any suggestions/advice will be appreciated.

Hi again and thank you for the additional information. My Mother (who is past menopause) had similar symptoms and was also given gabapentin. She was prescribed it for neuropathy and I was wondering if there was a possible similarity.
I actually called her regarding your question and she said the medication has really helped with the burning. Is there a reason why you didn't want to take the meds? Side effects?
I hope this additional information helps.

I had started believing the ankle pain is bcos of varicose veins....but now the burning of my feet has me more worried. So I have started wondering if all these symptoms are related to menopause ??
