Hi, I'm 22 years old now, and my relationship with my boyfriend has passed to the other level. We have made love/sex, and those events have been still painful, overall my first time, it hurt so bad. I'm still afraid to get pregnant. My first time with him was after my last period that was the 10 of July (which lasted 'til the day 14 of July), on July 15, we did it with condom, & in the same day after we did it, I took the next day pill. After days, I had bleeding in the 18 of July and it just lasted 'til the 21; I dont know why it happened??? or What was it??? Then, we did it for second time in the 24,,,,with condom too; & again, we did it for the 3th time on July 30 with condom too, and counting since the day of July 10, I think, I supose to have my period by today. I'm so concerned about it. We used condoms in all the three events, and he cummmed outside. He wants to do it without condom, but I don't want to get pregnant. But about what's happening right now, it's making me so paranoid, because I've never done it before with condoms, and with penetration, & I'm just thinking the worst, I hope you can help me to clear this doubts from my mind again, about if I can be pregnant with all what we did, . I'll be so grateful with you for helping me. Thank you for taking your time in reading my concern. Regards, Moevysan.

Hi Moevysan,

Your fear and panic won't certainly help your period come... the next day pill can easily delay your period for a week or 2, and adding up so much mental stress to all of it ain't much of a help.
if you are really so panically afraid of pregnancy i think you should either go on the normal contraceptive pill or just reconsider if you're really ready to have sex at all. this is not how it should be, and if something scares you so much it means you're far from ready to be doing it. sex is something you enjoy and not panic over for months.
take care and keep us posted,

Hi Moevysan,
Hi again! It's been a few months since you first asked about painful intercourse, and even though you are saying that your relationship has "moved to the next level" (as far as frequency of intercourse, it sounds), your emotional and mental connection is still in the frame of mind of being scared-to-death of pregnancy.

Understandably, since you said he wants to have sex without a condom.

It is great that you two are using condoms (they are up to 98% effective at preventing pregnancy when used consistently and correctly).

If your boyfriend wants to stop using condoms, I assume he is asking you to get a prescription for hormonal contraception (such as the birth control pill). How do you feel about using the pill?

If you are so paranoid (your words) about pregnancy, you may want to consider using the birth control pill, as it is 99% effective at preventing pregnancy...AND still use condoms. You need to continue using a barrier method of birth control to also protect against sexually transmitted infections.

Your period can be delayed due to your use of emergency contraception. It is not recommended to use EC on a regular basis, as it can lead to irregular cycles (and, then you really don't know when your period will begin). EC is only up to 75-80% effective at preventing pregnancy, so if you are wanting the most effective birth control, choosing to use the daily birth control pill is much more effective. Since you are sexually active, you do need to see a gynecologist to have a medical exam, and you can talk about prescription birth control. It is important to make sure you are healthy!

Did this answer all of your questions?

Hi & Thank You again Alison Beaver for helping me. Yes, it's been a few months since my last question, it's because I feel that I bother you a lot.
You are so right, the next level it's the frequency of intercourse; & it's true, I'm still scared-to-death of pregnancy :(
About using pills, I feel very confortable with the idea. Like the next pill, even though its not good to take it, I just wanna take it, because I feel safe with it; like I said in the former comment that I feel like I should have taken them.....so, I wouldnt feel like this...
This is another question if you dont mind: Is it normal to have more blood (like a period) after I had my normal period because of the next day pill? Because It has never happened to me before, and I have taken the pill before and never had bleeding like it happened to me in the 18, like I explained in the other comment. I just hope everything is fine, because I'm still paranoid about it, because my period hasnt arrived.
Thank you so much Alison Beaver, all your comments are expressed with clarity and to the point. I just hope I didn't waste your time, in fact, Thank you for taking the time in helping me with my concerns. I'm so grateful with you.

Hey Moevysan,
If you used condoms then you should be safe. Your period is acting a bit weird probably because you took the next day pill.. and also because you had sex for the first time and your hormones can easily go crazy after such an event and change. So no need to panic here, really.
The only two little things i would recommend/point out here are: no matter what your boyfriend says and how much he insists of having sex without a condom, do not accept that unless you are seriously thinking of having a family and a child with him. So many guys whine about it all the time, but the truth is that no one should play with such an enormous thing as creating a new life just because of a temporary pleasure.
And the second thing is: the next day pills is an emergency contraceptive, it contains high hormone dosage and you should't take it unless it is really necessary. nothing will happen if you take it once or twice but making a common use of it simply out of panic without no real need (ie. a condom breaks or slips off, you end up having unprotected sex...) is not recommended.

i hope this was helpful,
wish you all the best,

Thank you so much Mena, for taking your time in helping me. I know right?,,,my period is acting so weird, it has never happened to me before, I usually have a regular 28 or 29 days period; even more weird was when I had bleeding in the 18 'til the 21, & I have no clue what it was, because in the 18 I woke up with my pijamas all stained of blood...like if it were my period again.... I just hope everything is ok & that my period comes. Reading your comment made me feel more secure, I'm still paranoid about it, because my period hasnt arrived, but you calmed my mind more.
Thank you for your advices Mena; they make me think about many things. I just say to my boyfriend that I'm not prepared for that step, makes me feel bad, but I just dont feel safe, not even with the condom. About the next day pills, I know they shouldnt be taken often, but I get so paranoid that I dont think about its downsides, so to feel a lil more secure I just take it, even if we do it with condom, but the last two times, I didnt take the pill,,,,and now, I feel like I should have taken them.....to feel well right now....
Once again thank you for helping me,,,,and yeah,,,,your comment was helpful.....calmed my mind more...
