Can I become pregnant after stopping the pill?

Hi please help, I was on the pill until 30/10. My last period date was 17/10. Eversince I stopped the pill I have been having unprotected sex and I believe I ovulated on 8/11. My period is now 2 days late. I had unprotected sex both before and after ovulation. I know my body was ovulating as soon as I was not on the pill which was two weeks after my last period. What are my chances of being pregnant?

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to our community with your question.

You know your body better than anyone else. Some women will conceive within the first month while others will not become pregnant until two or three months after not taking oral contraceptives.

You have been having unprotected intercourse, especially before and after ovulation. There is a good chance that you did become pregnant. Wait for your period to start. If you are late by at least one week, and normally regular, test.

Good luck,
Maryann
