i had protected sex and my boy friend ejaculated in me the condom did not break
but he got parinoid so within a 48 hour time framed i sucessfully took next choice i started to bleed within 5 days spotting sort of and then it stopped plus it was not my time to have my period which i understand the side effect of next choice

my question is after all this bleeding does this mean the next choice pill worked and could i possibly be pregnant?
and how effective is the next choice pill when used as directed?

Hi Anonymous,
Thank you for your question and for finding EmpowHER. You had protected sex. It is highly unlikely you are pregnant. You also took emergency contraception which makes it even more unlikely for you to be pregnant. For more information, please review this article: Emergency Contraception Update, 2010
Good job on protecting yourself from unwanted pregnancy.
