Hello Anonymous,

Postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive and not intended to be used as a form of birth control. You should not be taking it every month. As a result, you have caused a hormonal imbalance.

Do not take another dose of Postinor 2. Use an alternate form of birth control, such as condoms. Wait a month or more and hopefully your system will get back to normal.

I took the first 'postinor2' pill and I experience bleeding after 6 hours and feel uncomfortable when I urinate, can I avoid taking the second pill? Urgent advice needed...

Hello Anonymous,

You should still take the second dose of Postinor 2. The bleeding and painful urination quite possibly indicates cystitis and are not caused by taking the first dose.

Cystitis is inflammation of the bladder. It is common for women to experience lower urinary tract symptoms following sexual intercourse.

Please contact your physician and report what is happening.

Hello Anonymous,

The answer is yes. Postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive that contains a high dose of the same synthetic hormone found in most birth control pills. It is designed to be used to prevent a pregnancy in the event of a contraceptive failure or unprotected intercourse. It is not intended to be used as a birth control method. It does not offer long term protection against pregnancy.

Hello Anonymous,

Did you take an emergency contraceptive after unprotected sex ? If so, the bleeding that you experienced on June 11 would count as your period for the month. Bleeding for three days indicates that you are not pregnant.

All the best,

Hello Anonymous,

The period or bleeding that you had from June 11 to June 15 counted as your monthly period for the month. Some women notice changes in their menstrual cycle after taking an emergency contraceptive. Your menstrual cycle should return to normal next month.

All the best,

Maryann
