Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

Arthritis itself is an auto-immune condition and has no cure. But arthritic tissue and damaged bones and joints can be removed in surgery. There are many different kinds of surgery to the knee to help ease arthritis.
You can read all about them via the Arthritis Foundation (cut and paste): http://www.arthritis.org/living-with-arthritis/treatments/joint-surgery/types/joint-surgery-procedure-options.php
Best,
Susan
